BIOT SAVART'S LAW
Biot Savart's law for magnetostatics field is comparable with coulomb's law for electrostatic. This formula is a universal formula, suitable to find magnetic field intensity for non-symmetrical field and also symmetrical field. Example of non symmetrical field is field contributed by short filament current, surface current on small surface area and field due to current in small volume structure. Analysis using Biot Savart's law is rather complicated complicated compared to the method after that (Ampere's law). - 1 Topics

AMPERE'S CIRCUITAL LAW
Ampere's circuital law is a method to find magnetic field intensity where this formula is comparable with Gauss's law for electrostatics. Ampere's law can be used if the field is symmetrical. examples of sources to provide symmetrical field are infinite filament current, infinite surface current and infinite volume current. Ampere's law is much simpler compared to Biot Savart's law. - 1 Topics
